Balance is a myth, featuring “Same old, same old” by Civil Wars

Don’t want to fight, don’t want to struggle, don’t want to go through strife? Time to call hospice and hook up the morphine drip. Equilibrium is the casket in which we lie down, fall asleep, and die.

Balance is a myth, and when used as a palliative for more than momentary relief and insight, it is hazardous to our long-term survival.

This is just a personal comment. I wondered where your blog had gone. Glad to see it again. I hope you and yours are well. I had dinner with Jerrie Cribb last night. We are still very much the same as we’ve always been, only maybe a little less patient with stuff.

Sermons, and preaching as an art, are not for dispensing content or proclaiming doctrines and dogma. Like poetry, prose, and music, they are for provoking and inspiring thought, memory, and imagination within those receiving them. Please allow your thoughts to wander as they will in response to what you hear, rather than following along word for word.
