“Cam” is short for Cameron, which is Gaelic for “bent nose.” That has no relevance whatsoever to subversivepreacher.org except by way of an invitation not to get your nose bent out of shape when you press it up against the glass of this portal.
I am a Hoosier by birth, a preacher and writer by profession, and an Episcopal priest by vocation. I have served congregations located in urban, suburban, rural, and university settings and in each of them helped to make certain the front door was blown wide-open and the walls made permeable.
In May of 2013 I traded full time parish ministry for writing fiction, poetry, and spiritual reflections as well as offering public speaking events, workshops, and counsel on the development of spiritual community. Adding to a successful career as preacher, pastor, church consultant, retreat and conference leader, adjunct professor, blogger, and columnist, I recently relocated to the much acclaimed Finger Lakes region of New York where I get to dance daily along the imaginative border between fiction and poetry while continuing to preach on Sunday.
Please explore this website and in addition to the articles, sermons, images and podcasts please discover (and watch grow) links to my published works of poetry and prose, and links to publications of literature and music by FOSP (Friends-of-Subversive-Preacher). It is an exciting time to be an artist, musician, writer, and theologian as the deconstruction of industry and institutional controls is being replaced with a thousand new rivers for expression. This website is just one little tributary.
Thanks for visiting, and remember: you are not in this alone.
In peace,
Cameron Miller

Please see my comments on “The Journey” following Cam’s words.
Have long been a fan of his words…thinking…and willingness to go bravely where few preachers go!
